Mellow Mondays The Rock Wellness Center

Join us on Mellow Mondays in May for Restorative and Yin Yoga.

Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing practice using gear such as blankets, blocks, and bolsters to allow your body to be completely supported in passive poses. This allows for total relaxation and nervous system regulation. Poses are held 5-10 minutes.

Goals of Restorative Yoga are Mellowness, Rest, Recovery, & Stress Relief. Ideal for those that seek to be mellow, healing from illness, injury, or burnout….

Yin Yoga is a meditative practice that targets connective tissues through passive poses without being fully supported by tangible yoga gear. Some gear is used, however, stillness, mindfulness, and breath are the main props for Yin Yoga. Sensation is felt in the deep tissues. Stretches are held for 2-5 minutes.

Goals of Yin Yoga are Mellowness, Mobility, Flexibility, Energetic Flow, & introspection. Ideal for those with tight joints or limited flexibility, complement to Yang movement (running, weightlifting), stress, anxiety and those looking for low impact stretching.
